Enable & Pause Warmup

How to activate the Warmup engine for your accounts and interpret the visual status indicators in your dashboard.

Updated over 2 months ago

Prerequisites

  • Your email account must be successfully connected (Green "Auth" status).

  • If you connect to a custom domain, your SPF and DKIM records must be verified.

Activating Warmup

  1. Navigate to the Accounts tab on the left sidebar.

  2. Locate the specific email account you wish to warm up.

  3. Look for the Fire Icon column.

    • Grey Fire: Warmup is Inactive/Paused.

    • Orange Fire: Warmup is Active.

  1. Click the "Begin Warmup" button (or the text link "Enable").

Understanding Status Indicators

Once activated, the Fire icon serves as your real-time status monitor.

  • Orange Fire (Active): The engine is running optimally. Emails are being sent and received according to your daily limits.

  • Grey Fire (Paused): The engine is stopped. No reputation is being built.

When to Pause Warmup

A common misconception is that you should stop Warmup once you start sending campaigns. This is false.

The Golden Rule: Never pause Warmup while a campaign is live. Attempting to do this will prompt an error message.

  • During Campaigns: Keep Warmup running to act as a "reputation buffer" against spam reports.

  • Vacation: If you pause your sales campaigns for a week, keep Warmup running. This keeps the domain "warm" so you don't lose momentum when you return.

  • Only Pause If: You are permanently retiring a domain or canceling your subscription.
